Introduction

Impactful work
across the African
continent

Future Africa Foundation has an agenda to unlock the potentials of the youth for sustainable development. The United Nations has projected that Africa’s youth population — presently, the largest in the world — will double to over 830 million by 2050. While this will position Africa as the world’s youngest region, with the median age of 25 years, it will equally provide incredible opportunities for the continent’s progress.

The fact, however, remains that several young people across the continent including Ghana, are confronted with unemployment, which their governments are struggling to address. To help address the challenge, Future Africa Foundation has set out to expand opportunities for Ghanaian youth, to put them in better shape to improve their lives, build a better future for themselves, and play transformative roles in the development of their communities and nation. Through the Foundation’s flagship programme - Ghana Job Bank - an estimated 300,000 youth will be trained by 2050. This aligns with population growth and the demand for a workforce endowed with the skills to meet the demands of the changing times.

The Foundation is focusing on six aim pillars namely:

  • Peace and governance
  • Youth empowerment
  • Innovation and cultural preservation
  • Food security
  • Health and Wellness
  • Responsible Mining
